The picture was taken on film on a 10 x 8-inch plate camera. It is a double exposure on one sheet of film. The champagne glasses and table first. The champagne bottle is there. Look closely between the middle two glasses and you can just see it. The second exposure, on the same sheet of film, was of backlit marble which gives the cloud effect. The second exposure was critical. Too much and it spoiled the first, too little and there was little effect.
