I took this photograph of Casablanca lilies, on film, on a 10 x 8-inch plate camera. I exposed the main photograph first and then the background was double-exposed onto the same sheet of film. The second exposure was a piece of marble with light coming through it from behind. The background appears to be behind and in front of the vase and flowers on the finished image. I created this photograph long before Photoshop existed.
